A work-at-homemaker like me loves staying home. Like, 90% of the time, I like being able to do everything from home. Be it work, meeting with a client (on Skype, of course), cooking, cleaning, or relaxing, home is the place to be for me. And especially during these rainy times in the Philippines right now, home is a refuge and a haven for me. And with the advent of home-based shopping services, I can stay at home more often!
I recently got to try out a wonderful home shopping service by the awesome company Mommy Matters. (As you already know — those who are my regular readers — I’m one of the real mom bloggers of Mommy Matters.) It’s aptly called the Fit-at-Home Service, and it is a convenient and relaxing way to shop for busy moms.
I was able to set the appointment conveniently via Twitter (@mommymattersph). The FAH service is offered to most areas in Metro Manila. There is a minimum purchase of Php2,500.00 worth of Mommy Matters apparel in order for the delivery to be free. Otherwise, there will be a delivery fee of Php150-250 depending on the area.
The Mommy Matters Fit-at-Home Experience
Here’s how the Fit at Home experience plays out. It’s super efficient and simple!
When you request for the Fit-at-Home Service, you must first check the Mommy Matters website and choose styles you would like to see. Then you may call Mommy Matters (or even Tweet them) and request a fit at home appointment. You will need to provide your name, residence address, telephone number, and current clothing size. Alternatively, you can give Mommy Matters your bra size and they can base your size on that. Send them the list of styles you would like to fit and see. Mommy Matters will inform you of when to expect the delivery of the items. The clothes arrive in a suitcase, like the one pictured above.
When you open up the suitcase–voila! Every piece currently on-stock in your size is in here, in the size you want and the colors you request. Each piece is sealed in its own plastic bag, and with a price tag. If you find the size is wrong, you can choose the styles you want, and Mommy Matters will send the styles in your preferred size.
You also get a breakdown of the items, with their prices. Upon pickup, the items you purchase will be checked along this delivery list. (Those are copies of Mommy Pages and the Urban Mom magazine, which were included in my delivery.)
After you are done choosing your nursing wear, you can list down your purchase, compute your total and prepare payment.
You can then call/text Mommy Matters to schedule the pick up of the suitcase, upon which Mommy Matters will send their driver to get the clothes and receive your payment. (Mommy Matters accepts cash, check, PayPal and G-Cash payments.)
I’d highly recommend the Fit-at-Home Service to any mom. Think about it: If you’re a new mom, newly nursing your baby, you really don’t have much time to leave the house and shop for some comfy clothes. With the Fit-at-Home Service, you don’t have to worry about taking baby out, braving traffic and mall crowds. You can shop at home, when you want, when it’s most convenient for you.
