Finding That State of Enough and Bliss: A prelude to a guest post

I’m over at Mothering From Scratch today as a guest “momtor,” talking about a few lessons I’ve learned as a wife and mom. I’d like to thank Melinda and Kathy for having me over and giving me the opportunity to share my insights. Being a wife and mother is not an easy job, but there are a few morsels of wisdom I’ve picked up through the years — whether through hard knocks, or from a fellow mom-mentor — that have helped me find that state of “enough.”

Have you found that place, where despite your situation, you can still say, “my life is good”? I don’t claim to have found it completely, but there have been several moments where I’ve been able to take a step back, look at my life in hindsight and say, “My life is good. Thank you, God.” I’m not yet all there, of course: I do have those Jonah days.  But, I am learning bit by bit to suck the marrow out of life and see how to live daily with a grateful heart.  I hope you’ll hop on over to Mothering From Scratch, read the guest post, leave some love behind, too!

I think I have those moments when I do say “I have enough” and I’m so blessed. But there are more days when I feel I am still lost and overwhelmed by the day-to-day and what the future holds, esp. for the kids, since they’re still young, and we have lots of goals we have yet to achieve.
    :) That’s life!

I know what you mean, Michelle. These are a normal part of our days, and it’s always good to plan for the future. We sometimes lie awake at night thinking about how we’ll manage things five or ten years down the line — with another kid to boot! But, as moms, we go by that adage “Where there’s a will there’s a way,” don’t we?! :)
