About a month ago, the lovely people of Mustela sent over some products for me to try out. Now, I’ve been familiar with Mustela for quite some time now, and I even did a Mustela giveaway in the past. So, I can really vouch for the gentleness of the product on babies’ skin. However, this time around, I used the products on myself and on Vito, who’s a preschooler now.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I’ve had a long-time problem with skin asthma. I flair up with dry patches on my hands and nape especially: the hands, because I am a compulsive hand-washer; the nape, because that’s the first place I break out in sweat on sweltering hot days, causing heat rashes that lead to skin asthma. Since I have particularly sensitive skin, I’ve got to keep it hydrated without aggravating it.
Mustela’s Stelatopia Emollient Cream (branded as part of the previous Stelaprotect line) did wonders for me. I liked that it was scentless, and applied evenly without that greasy layer that some lotions leave behind even after constant hand-rubbing. I use the cream right after hand-washing, and especially in the evening just before going to bed. When worn during the night before putting on cotton gloves (which I do, during times of extreme dryness), my skin is soft yet taut in the morning. Great for a busy, multi-tasking momma like me who still does all of the kitchen prep and cooking.
I’ve been using the Mustela Baby Shampoo on Vito. I love its gentle and fresh scent, and how well it rinses off. My son’s a sweat-prone guy like his dad, so we often have two or more showers in a day. The Mustela shampoo doesn’t dry his scalp out at all, and is extremely gentle so that he can even open his eyes during a shower.
I ended up giving the Mustela Stelatopia Cleansing Cream to my sister-in-law, who had just given birth. It turns out the cream was suitable for her son (my new nephew), who had allergic rashes and cradle cap. He is doing quite well now, and his skin is super smooth and soft! Here he is with Vito:
Since we have a history of dry skin and eczema/dermatitis in the family, it’s a relief to know that we can turn to Mustela for its brand of true blue TLC. (Pun intended: Mustela’s branding has always been blue!) We have been buying our Mustela products from Rustan’s Department Store ever since. But now that the brand is being officially distributed in the Philippines, you can now get them in other malls and stores. “LIKE” them on Facebook, being sure you add them to your newsfeed (Hover over their “like” button, click “Show in newsfeed” and “Add to interests” in the drop-down menu.)
Be sure you check out their official Philippine website for the full range of products:
