Ever since I launched the “Blog Your Best” Workshops, I’ve met so many passionate, gorgeous women who are fired up about life and love. We’ve had four workshops since December 2013, and the response has been wonderful! I really do feel so blessed that these workshops are connecting women, and are bringing women together whether for business or just plain pleasure! (Yay, craft & artsy playdates, coffee dates and other randomness!)

Blog Your Best Shot was a photography styling workshop collaboration with Mia Marchadesch-Jaranilla, a client of mine for small business bliss, and a talented natural-light photographer based in Bangkok. When we got to talking late last year about a workshop, I thought, “Why not teach one here in Manila, to help people take better photos using whatever gear they have?

I’m so glad Mia agreed! She whipped up a syllabus, flew in to Manila a couple of days before the workshop, and basically swept us all away with her talent!

Here are some shots I took during the event, which was held at Commune in Salcedo Village, Makati City.

Eager bloggers Hana and Peach applying the lesson! Yes, iPhonography was totally on the agenda!

We were fortunate to have a couple of sponsors for our event! Dolce Cakes & Pastries provided us with beautiful fondant cupcakes — and everyone knows cupcakes are social media darlings! We also had yummy coffee and pastries from Commune.

Paper Chic Studio generously provided paper props like straws, lanterns, party supplies and wrapping paper for the workshop portion. People went nuts over these! At the end of the workshop, Mia raffled off two of the wrapping paper books that were used for the lessons, making these two ladies very happy indeed!

Regina and Peach with Mia. They got to take home these wrapping paper books from Paper Chic Studio, to use in their own photos. Great job, ladies!

What I liked about this workshop was that Mia was very hands-on and generous with her knowledge. She would go around table to table, to observe how we, the students, were applying the techniques she taught us. I learned a lot, considering I take photos from time to time and have a small but dedicated “like” following on Instagram! (In fact, there’s a clamor for an encore workshop, ahem, Mia?!)

Thanks to all who attended! Here’s our official class pic, although yours truly isn’t in it because I’m taking the photo!

Happy students! Thanks, Mia, for an informative and inspired workshop!
